Peace and Blessings,
Even though Halloween is not a Muslim tradition, I feel it’s important to celebrate all things in life, especially other religious traditions; Halloween is no different. Of course, Halloween is not the only occasion for a Hijabi to get dressed up.
This first look is inspired by DC Universe’s Harley Quinn, it requires two shawls — one red, one black — and a red under-scarf. The black mask is optional but this one was purchased at the DollarStore.
STEP 1 – Tie your hair into to pigtails and place mask and under-scarf
STEP 2 – Place one edge of the black shawl on the top of your head and pin behind your head
STEP 3 – Repeat step 2 with the red shawl
STEP 4 – Separate both shawls and place on each side
STEP 5 – Twist the red shawl around one of the pigtail, secure with pins as needed
STEP 6 – Secure the shawl in the middle of your head where the red shawl begins
STEP 7 – Bring the red shawl down the middle of your head and secure at the nape of your neck
STEP 8 – Wrap the black shawl around the other pigtail, secure with pins
STEP 9 – IF NECESSARY wrap a few extra times to match the lenght of the red shawl
STEP 10 – Secure the black shawl in the middle of your head next to the red shawl
STEP 11 – Bring the black shawl down the middle of your head and secure at the nape of your neck
STEP 12 – Bring up the edge of both shawls on their respective buns
